Aromatic, this reveals floral, honey, coffee and citrus nuances on a firm, elegant structure. Very fresh and crisp on the finish. Drink now through 2003.

Additional Info Montaudon was founded at the end of the 19th century by Auguste-Louis Montaudon, whose descendants are still in charge. The firm owns 80 acres of pinot noir vineyards in Les Riceys, and the fruit adds richness to wines such as the Grande Rosé Brut and the vintage Brut Millesimé. A chardonnay Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru ages well.

Near-clinical winemaking techniques, closer to the New World than traditional Champagne, produce a distinctive but extremely user-friendly wine style. Crystal clear lemon and ripe apple aromas are repeated on the crisp, almost crunchy, palate through to a long, translucent finish.

Additional Info Almost equal proportions of the three Champagne grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay.
